The Collet du Tat, the children’s walk from the chalet
No car needed for this one: you set off on foot from the chalet. A steady climb leads to the Collet du Tat, between the two resorts — and at the top, a surprise awaits the children.

The surprise at the top
The climb goes at children’s pace, with no difficult sections. Up there, we discovered boxes set along the trail: inside, wooden games built around the Dévoluy’s « boules ». Our children loved them — the break at the col lasted far longer than planned, and nobody complained.
The panorama does the rest: the Obiou on one side, the Pic de Bure on the other. Keep an eye on the meadows below the col — marmots sometimes play there.
Our tips
Allow about 2.5 hours round trip from the chalet, breaks included — all the effort is on the way up; the return is downhill and takes care of itself. Bring water and caps: as so often in the massif, shade is scarce.
It is the ideal outing for a first day or a morning: you lace up at the front door, and the games at the top give children a real reason to climb.
